MA Shaohua, MD

Dr. Ma Shaohua’s clinical practice, teaching, and research focus on minimally invasive surgery and the pathogenesis of thoracic malignancies. During his tenure as Director of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Peking University Third Hospital (2018–2022), he pioneered robotic-assisted thoracic surgery. His surgical expertise centers on minimally invasive procedures, including anatomical lung segmentectomy, lobectomy, mediastinal tumor resection, and radical esophagectomy. 

Dr. Ma holds multiple academic leadership positions. He is a Standing Committee Member of the Thoracic Surgery Committee of the Beijing Medical Association, the Thoracic Surgery Committee of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, the Cancer Chemotherapy Committee of the China Association for Promotion of Health Science and Technology, and the Lung Cancer Committee of the Beijing Cancer Society. 

He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery and the Youth Editorial Board of the Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer.
